Systems Engineer - Technical Business Analyst

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity within our ICT Business Solutions team for a customer-focused Systems Engineer. In this role, you will help deliver and support digital tools used by the business, in a variety of areas such as Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Finance etc. You will use your problem-solving skills and a variety of technology and tools to solve complex problems across the business.

 

We are looking for an excellent communicator who is driven to deliver can engage, listen, show empathy, and articulate ideas succinctly. Your natural style will be one of ownership and investment in the greater good, with a willingness to wear multiple hats and roll up your sleeves to help achieve successful outcomes.

 

What you need to be successful

  • Experience supporting the delivery of enterprise-wide business solutions.

  • Broad understanding of a variety of technologies and know how they can be put together to add business value.

  • The ability to understand and scrutinise technical recommendations (by internal ICT or external consultants) and explain the benefits and risks in non-technical terms to the business.

  • Knowledge of the SDLC and ITIL best practices to ensure all the systems are in a state of control.

  • Ability to produce and peer review documentation that aligns with best-practice standards.

  • Willingness to proactively collaborate with your peers.

  • Strong foundation and can self-improve your core technical skills.

  • Creative and innovative thinker who is excited about using technology to solve complex business problems.

  • A continuous improvement mindset.

  • Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline (preferred).

 

In the role you will get the opportunity to both support and enhance existing business solutions (commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise cloud solutions), as well as being involved in the selection and implementation of new software solutions. You will partner with business users, other ICT team members, such as Domain Leads, Project Managers, Architects, Validation Engineers, Business Analysts and third-party vendors.
