Senior Product Development Engineer - Hospital Respiratory Support

 

We’re seeking an experienced Product Development Engineer to join the Airvo Optiflow team. Our team’s responsibilities include the high-volume products we provide today as well as creating a pipeline of new development to enable growth in the nasal high flow space.  

We are looking for a motivated engineer who is passionate about problem solving. Your excellent communication and collaboration skills will enable you to work both within the team and across various functions to deliver products from concept into the hands of our customers. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to detailed product design, technical leadership, and mentoring others in the team. We’ll shape the scope of work around your strengths, enabling you to grow while making a tangible difference to patient care.  

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Detailed design and specification development 

  • Product verification and validation activities 

  • Fostering a culture of good DFM practices 

  • Ownership of project technical files and design controls 

  • Mentoring and coaching others to success 

  • Good knowledge of the design process and strong technical document writing 

The ideal candidate will bring: 

  • Product development experience, preferably in medical devices or another highly regulated environment.  

  • Experience in plastic part design for moulding, CAD modelling in Creo Parametric, CAM and CNC machining.  

  • Experience implementing solutions into production. 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in product and/or project delivery.  

  • A willingness to take on a wide variety of challenges, as we continue to support existing released products. 

  • An attention to detail. 

  • Practical experience in engineering experiments, including data analysis in Matlab or Python. 

  • Project management experience is preferable.
