About the opportunity

The roles offer an opportunity to work in a mechanical design team, focused on improving novel medical products in the Airvo product family. You will be responsible for the support, development, and delivery of our high-quality respiratory support devices. Your work will involve, investigating issues, implementing design and performance improvements as well as improving production reliability and manufacturing yield. We need your help to ensure our products are as effective, safe, and successful as possible.

 

The systems that you will be working on involve a complex mix of mechanical systems, electrical hardware and custom software, so exceptional communication skills and the ability to work together in a cross functional group will be highly beneficial. This also gives you the opportunity to perform project management for small projects within a multi-disciplinary team, to deliver project objectives in a fast-paced and changing environment.

 

Due to the strict regulatory nature of the medical industry, engineering projects at FPH require a high level of documentation and so applicants should have solid experience in report writing and navigating company process’.


You’ll be working in a small team of 6 and surrounded by other 2 other mechanical teams that share knowledge, expertise and support the training of new staff. As an Intermediate/senior engineer, you’ll be able to quickly learn our processes and procedures while also having the opportunity to make improvements.

 

Projects can range from a 3–12-month time frame. This will suit someone that likes a quick throughput combined with the need to juggle the priorities of multiple projects at once.

 

 

 

About you

You should have

  • A formal engineering qualification in mechanical, mechatronics (or similar) with 3+ years of transferable working experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to investigate design issues and root cause analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge of plastic part design, material fundamentals and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient with project and time management, prioritisation and working under pressure. Organising, co-ordinating and communicating
  • Proficient in product testing and technical report writing – clear documentation is a key part of medical product development.
  • Experience with 3D modelling using CAD software. (Creo, Solidworks etc.)

 

Beneficial experience

  • Working in regulated industry such as healthcare.
  • Reliability engineering.
  • Practical hands-on ability (Prototyping, CNC machining, Moulding etc.)
  • Knowledge of Fluid dynamics
  • Working with overseas vendors.
  • Prefer working in a multi-disciplinary team who collaborate together to solve problems. 
  • Love to learn and develop new skills and understanding.
