Senior Data Governance & Enablement Analyst
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Governance & Enablement Analyst to join our Data Centre of Excellence.
The Role
You will work across the organisation to bring clarity and consistency to how data is defined, used, and governed. You will facilitate conversations between teams to align on key concepts, resolve inconsistencies, and establish shared definitions across systems. You will also help design and embed governance practices that ensure data is reliable, well understood, and used appropriately.
You will bring a strong technical data background, enabling you to work confidently with analysts, engineers, and business teams to understand reporting logic, assess data quality, challenge definitions, and support practical, well-governed data solutions.

You'll help design and embed governance practices that keep data reliable, well understood, and used appropriately.
You'll bring a strong technical data background, working confidently alongside analysts, engineers, and business teams to understand reporting logic, assess data quality, challenge definitions, and support practical, well-governed solutions.
This role would suit someone with a strong technical foundation who wants to focus on governance, enablement, and improving how data is defined, trusted, and used across the organisation.
Our Team
We are Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s central data and analytics team. We build the foundations that enable the business to make better decisions, faster. As a Centre of Excellence, we focus on defining how data and analytics are done, enabling teams through guidance and training, and ensuring consistency and trust across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate discussions to define and align key data concepts, fields, and metrics
- Resolve differences in definitions, logic, and data usage across teams
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks, standards, and policies
- Contribute to trusted reporting, data quality, and governance assets that support consistent business decision-making
- Develop assets to measure data quality and compliance with standards and policies
- Support governance practices for data and AI, including safe usage guidance
- Create clear documentation (guides, FAQs, training content)
- Design and deliver training to improve data and AI literacy and AI adoption
- Act as a connector between business, analytics, and technology teams
- Partner with business and technical teams to translate reporting and analytics needs into clear data requirements, definitions, and governance expectations
- Support the establishment of consistent, trusted data practices
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with enterprise data and reporting platforms
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytical models using tools such as Power BI or similar
- Strong understanding of data concepts
- Experience contributing to governance frameworks or policies
- Ability to facilitate discussions and build alignment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience creating training materials or guidance
- Interest in AI and its safe use is beneficial
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
