THE ROLE

In the role of Quality Systems Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a Quality Engineering Team that supports the RAC Operations business. You will be directly responsible for a team of Quality System Engineers that provide technical engineering and quality system support for our manufacturing operations.  

Reporting to the head of Quality for New Zealand Manufacturing Operations, this challenging and impactful role will focus on delivering continuous process improvement and maintaining compliance with our Quality Management System and international regulatory requirements. This position will be a part of the cross-functional operations management team and will play a key role in the development of quality and operational strategies and goals to achieve company business objectives  

 

THE PERSON

You are currently in a quality leadership role looking for a change or in a senior quality engineering role looking for a step up into a management role. 

To be considered for the role, we are looking for the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
  • 5 years of working experience in the Medical Device industry, with no less than 3 years of experience performing in a quality role and/or another engineering role with exposure in a manufacturing environment.
  • In depth knowledge of applicable Medical Device Regulation including but not limited to: 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971.
  • Effective decision-making skills, experience negotiating and balancing decision and priorities across needs of several functional departments and willingness to make tough decisions.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening) with all levels of the organization with ability to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully and present information confidently. Ability to influence others.
  • Solid experience managing projects
  • Experience leading, mentoring and/or direct management of staff.
