About the opportunity
We are looking for a high-performing, hands-on person to join our New Zealand Health, Safety & Wellbeing team to support with projects management. This is a dynamic role, focused on turning strategy into practical improvements, taking a risk-based approach to continuously enhance our ways of working.
You will lead and coordinate HSW projects from planning through to delivery, working closely with operational HSW team members, leaders, and the people doing the work. Your impact will come from understanding how we work and helping embed simple, effective, risk‑based solutions that improve the safety of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading HSW projects end‑to‑end, ensuring agreed outcomes are delivered.
- Coordinating work across multiple teams and functions in a large organisational environment.
- Partnering with leaders to support risk‑based prioritisation and decision‑making.
About You
You are a fresh thinking, curious, engaging and technically savvy person who is passionate about understanding what is necessary for people to work safely. In addition to your excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be resilient, adaptable, and constantly seeking ways to collaborate and share ownership of safety initiatives within our business.
Essential for this role:
- Project delivery experience - 3+ years’ experience in project management, ideally within a health and safety function or within a large, complex organisation, with demonstrated end‑to‑end delivery.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience coordinating work across multiple teams and/or functions.
- Able to prioritise, manage competing demands, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Have a practical, risk‑based mindset and be comfortable translating strategy into action by focusing on what materially improves the way work is done.
- Demonstrate the ability to build trust and strong relationships with stakeholders that enable engagement and inspire continuous improvement.
- Confident engaging with, and influencing people, and supporting shared ownership of health and safety outcomes.
- Motivated, curious and have a continuous improvement mindset.
