Product Development Engineer - Mechanical

About the Role 

The role offers an opportunity to work in a mechanical design team, focused on developing new and novel medical products. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of new products, as well as supporting existing products already on the market. We need your help to ensure our products are as effective, safe, and successful as possible.


We are seeking an innovative and practical minded individual to join our exciting team on our mission to improve the outcomes for respiratory support patients world-wide. Your excellent communication and collaboration skills will enable you to work with multi-disciplinary teams on developing the Airvo 3 respiratory device, which is our new and most advanced product to date.


Your passion for problem solving and drive to make a positive impact will enable you to embrace challenging projects and persevere to change clinical practice. You will expand a broad range of skills, as you work on projects spanning the entire development cycle, from initial ideation right through to product release.


About You

You should have

  • A formal engineering qualification in mechanical, mechatronics (or similar) with 2+ years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with 3D modelling using CAD software. Experience with Creo would be ideal.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills especially with design of components.
  • Knowledge of part design and material specification.
  • Proficient in technical report writing – clear documentation is a key part of medical product development.


Ideally you would have experience with

  • Practical hands-on skills (Prototyping, CNC machining, Moulding etc.)
  • Working in regulated industry such as healthcare.
  • Knowledge of Fluid dynamics
  • Reliability engineering
