Product Development Engineer

We have an exciting and unique opportunity in our Airvo Investigation Team, where our focus is continually improving our great products.


In the ‘Airvo Investigation Team’ we:


  • Review faults occurring in real life use. This involves interacting with all internal and external groups necessary to gain best understanding.
  • Do root cause investigations of special case events as a source for design / manufacturing / instruction / training etc improvements.
  • Look for design opportunities for our existing products to continually improve safety and performance to better serve our patients.  
  • Consider the medical condition of patients who use our device to broadly understand usage.
  • Attend and lead design reviews which discuss field use, complaint trending and risk documentation improvement for our devices.
  • Set up systems for investigating any incident involving our device in a manner compatible with existing procedures.
  • Devise and implement improvements for our device and its usage, be that design change, manufacturing change, user training, supplier improvements etc.
  • Assisting to meet our quality and regulatory requirements is an important part of the role.


Good technical writing and verbal communication skills are needed as well as an ability to understand and learn quality and regulatory systems.


The right person will have a BEng or higher in mechanical or electronic engineering, or other qualification to be considered.  Previous experience with medical devices is helpful but not essential.
