About the role
We have a fantastic 12month Fixed Term opportunity to join our Supply Chain team as a Procurement Manager, under the commercials & contract management function. The role will focus on a large infrastructure spend in FY 24/25 towards new building projects.
In this role, you will:
- Implement procurement strategies for acquisition of infrastructure project cost with QS and project consultants that meet quality, cost and timely delivery criteria.
- Work collaboratively with Design and consulting teams to coordinate supplier selection, commercial terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation as required.
- Lead the negotiation of infrastructure contracts with suppliers and subcontractors for spend greater than $ 250K NZD.
- Prepare and review building tenders, produce management reports during the procurement phase track the status of bids, evaluate the pricing.
- Present alternative Infrastructure procurement tactical strategies and to meet scope & budget.
- Drive Commercials and Contracts Management of Direct and Indirect procurement.
- Lead efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget.
Skills and Experience
- Experience ideally within engineering, procurement and construction space.
- Knowledge in the construction industry methods and applications and in construction procurement.
- Knowledge in related governmental laws and respective building codes.
- Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound project management skills and ability to think creatively and strategically
- Ability to identify issues and areas for improvement through analysis
- Exposure and conceptual understanding of contract law and pricing
- Strong commercial acumen and business understanding with a global focus and awareness
- Ability to manage internal and customer relationships, team orientation and interpersonal skills
