Principal Software Engineer - Cloud and Connectivity Research

Join our Future Applications team developing our next generation of cloud and IoT products, focused on identifying patient deterioration, predicting patient progress, and improving those outcomes.  It involves rapid experimentation, exploring potential technology (hardware and software), with a core focus on research, and performance / scalability / security on a global scale.   

 

Here at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare we build cloud solutions that connect our world leading medical devices to patients, their clinicians, and healthcare providers.  We develop software used by health professionals worldwide, helping them create better outcomes for their patients.  

  

This role 

We have opportunities for a Principal Engineer to join our team.  

  

You will fit in well here if 

  • You are an expert in your field and enjoy deeply understanding and solving complex problems 
  • You enjoy collaborating with others to come up with innovative solutions 
  • You deeply understand good software / system design and architecture.  You take ownership of your work.  
  • You value openness, you're curious, and have a desire for continuous experimentation, learning, development, and growth.  

  

We'll expect you to have 

  • Experience in distributed systems design, IoT, communications, real-time systems, security. 
  • Experience in communications technologies - Bluetooth LE, Cellular, etc 
  • Proficient with backend technologies - C#, .NET Core, Web API 
  • Comfortable with front end technologies - TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, CSS  
  • Experience with database technologies - Cosmos DB, SQL Server 

  

It's great, but not required to have:  

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Containerization, Kubernetes  
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies
