Payroll Specialist
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join our HR team. This role will be responsible for processing and coordinating the execution of large volume (weekly and monthly) payruns for over 3,500 New Zealand based employees.
Working in our Payroll team of five, you will work closely with the Payroll Services Manager and the wider HR team to ensure our Payroll systems and processes are compliant and effective for our business and employees.

You will be a motivated and driven team player who is keen to develop your career and help build the Payroll team. You will be keen to continue learning and will have support and training to assist with your professional development. You will also have a passion for continuous improvement and be enjoy identifying and implementing improvements across the team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person who:
- Has experience with payroll systems including upgrades, audits, and system configurations (Chris21 preferred).
- Can demonstrate excellent knowledge of Payroll legislation (including Holidays Act 2003) while also understanding business needs.
- Has a comfort with MS Excel to an intermediate-advanced level (formulas, pivot tables etc).
- Can work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strives for continuous improvement and has experience identifying changes and implementing these.
- Is customer focused and enjoys working with employees to identify improvements.
To be successful you will need to be pro-active, agile and a strong communicator who can easily communicate with a wide variety of people. You will have a passion for what you do and be excited to get involved in a number of projects – both small and large!
