Occupational Health Case Manager

This is an exciting new role within the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team. Based in Highbrook, East Tamaki the role will be part of the wider Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, which includes an Occupational Health Physicians, Occupational Health Advisors, Project Manager, Psychologists,  Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapists.

 

You will partner with the business stakeholders such as the Occupational Health Services Team, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams, as well as our external stakeholders, on Occupational Heath related matters. You will be involved in providing Occupational Health Services to ensure improved health and wellbeing for our people by focusing on; Health Promotion, Health Risk Prevention, Occupational Health Protection and Healthcare Services to our 3500+ people on-site; working in manufacturing, warehousing, engineering, research & development and office-based environments.

 

You are a high-performing individual and possess the vision, skill and passion to support and develop, implement, manage and maintain some of our key initiatives relating to occupational Health Services. You would also be actively engaging with the stakeholders to promote the F&P Health & Wellbeing brand while maintaining an external perspective on industry best practices.

 

Some of the key responsibilities in the role would be:

 

  • Building & maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders & external vendors, ensuring engagement & alignment throughout an employee’s health journey
  • Effective presentation, oral, and written business communication skills with various audiences and levels.
  • Support the HSW team with business delivery of H&W strategic initiatives, policy, procedures and standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an injury, illness and fitness for work management framework in consultation with the business.
  • Coordinate, promote and monitor the workplace rehabilitation programme to ensure reduction in absenteeism, and safe return to work for affected employees, in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Advise and work with the Occupational Health Services team and wider business to effectively support employees with injury management and wellbeing.
  • Lead the management of workers compensation processes (ACC) to ensure obligations under ACC legislation are met, the wellbeing of the employee is protected, and the employee returns to work in a suitable time frame.
  • Develop and maintain reporting to identify issues, trends, and drive improvements.
  • Being comfortable working autonomously by managing own time and workload, as well as part of a high functioning team
  • Understand and provide timely advice in relation to legislation and potential changes and support with investigations.

Along with that you also have:

 

  • Strong technical knowledge of case management systems.
  • Strong research, reporting and analysis ability.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify areas of concern and provide innovative solutions.
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • 4+ years’ experience in injury management.
  • Allied Health qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Tertiary Qualification in related discipline desirable e.g., Occupational Therapy or Nursing
