Maintenance Technician

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team in a permanent night‑shift role, working Monday to Friday, 10.00pm – 6.00am.

 

About the Opportunity

In this key role, you will be responsible for carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and responding to unscheduled breakdowns in an efficient and timely manner to support the ongoing operation of a large facilities environment.

 

Working as part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will diagnose and repair faults across a range of building services and systems, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and share ideas to enhance reliability, safety, and performance across the campus.

 

About You

You are a qualified and experienced technician with a strong technical background and a practical approach to fault‑finding and problem‑solving. Ideally, you will hold a relevant trade or engineering qualification and bring experience in facilities or building services maintenance. You will have:

  • A recognised NZ mechanical or electrical trade or engineering qualification, or NZQA equivalent
  • Current EWRB registration (for electrical qualifications)
  • Experience maintaining and repairing automated or building services equipment
  • Proven mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience
  • Strong time‑management skills and the ability to work autonomously when required
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills
  • A methodical, safety‑focused approach with strong attention to detail
