About the opportunity

Due to the continued growth of our business, we have a new position in our in-house international sales legal team for a friendly and confident lawyer with strong commercial acumen.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with 3-6 years’ PQE who is looking to grow their career. In this role you will be part of a supportive, high performing team providing legal support across a diverse range of matters in New Zealand and various international markets.

 

Reporting to our Head of Legal – International Sales, you will:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to our senior leaders and stakeholders, building trust based relationships to become a key partner for the business
  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts
  • Establish legal entities and direct sales operations in overseas markets
  • Manage ongoing corporate governance and compliance for our overseas entities
  • Provide training and guidance on company procedures and relevant legal developments

About you

Our ideal candidate will be commercially astute with a solid legal background and a people-oriented approach. You will be working largely with our global team so an interest in international matters and flexibility for some international travel as part of this role will be important.

 

Other key experience and attributes that will ensure success in this role include:

  • 3-6 years' post-admission experience in-house or private practice experience in corporate or commercial law from a recognised law firm
  • New Zealand qualified with a strong academic record
  • A customer-focused attitude, able to tackle legal issues with a proactive and pragmatic approach. Your ability to see the bigger picture and find practical solutions will make you a valuable asset to our team
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills. You’re great at breaking down complex issues and presenting clear, logical reasoning that everyone can understand
  • A team-player who loves building strong, constructive relationships within a business setting
