The Role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager - New Zealand, we are looking for a high-performing, hands-on individual to join our Health, Safety & Wellbeing team. Play a key role in championing our health and safety framework to continuously improve and embed safe practices, thinking, and behaviours into the everyday operations ensuring we provide a better quality of life for our people, families and communities.

This dynamic role will see you partner with the business's product and process teams. You will lead, coach and build partnerships that promote continuous improvement and empower our people to take ownership of health and safety. We are looking to further enhance our existing team's technical capability to complement our service delivery.


About You

We are looking for fresh thinking and technically savvy employee who is passionate about health and safety to help us further mature our safety culture. No day will be the same as you will work alongside all levels of the business; therefore, a need to tailor your delivery style to the audience. In addition to your excellent communication skills, you will be resilient, adaptable and constantly seeking ways to challenge the status quo and empower shared leadership and ownership of safety within a culturally diverse organisation.

The ideal applicant will bring the following skills and competencies to the role:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A fresh-thinking approach and ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to engage and influence at a line management and team level
  • Risk Management experience using best-practice methodologies
  • Experience working within research & development and/or manufacturing environment
  • Engineering background and/or knowledge in ergonomics, electrical and machine safety
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles (PDCA, Value stream mapping, line layouts etc.)

A Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) or advanced machine safety experience is desirable.
