The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing business as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor based in Highbrook, Auckland. You will be part of a fun and collaborative team driving proactive engagement to impact a positive culture change.

 

Reporting to the Health Safety & Ergonomics Manager, you will support our R&D portfolio. You will:

  • build strong relationships based on trust and collaboration,
  • promote leadership engagement,
  • empower our employees
  • provide Health, Safety and Wellbeing leadership and expertise
  • support across the business unit - particlary working alongside Engineers.

 

About You

To succeed in this role you need to be passionate about people and ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing. You will have strong relationship building skills, be self-motivated and dependable. You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely to different audiences, with a keen desire to learn and grow.

 

You will have a consultative and collaborative approach and highly proficient communication skills enabling you to build strong relationships of trust, to partner effectively at all levels and to guide and influence safety outcomes. You will be constantly seeking ways to challenge the status quo and empower shared leadership and ownership of safety within our business.

 

  • Have at least 2 years experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing (within engineering/manufacturing space would be preferred).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • A true passion for people and their Health, Safety and Wellbeing
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to collaborate with, influence and engage others to drive change with a pragmatic approach
  • Excellent organisation skills, including the ability to work independently without direct supervision and also as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive understanding of New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA 2015) - desired but not required.
