What you'll be doing
As an essential part of our NZ HR Leadership team, the Head of Workplace Relations role is responsible for leading and developing our workplace relations strategy and supporting business objectives. You will lead our workplace relations team and be a trusted advisor to the HR team and our wider business on a broad range of workplace relation matters. We have made great progress since this team was established, and now we’re ready to take this to the next level — strengthening our processes, growing capability, and laying the foundations for long-term, sustainable impact.
The experience we'll need
You will be an experienced workplace relations professional with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. These skills will help you build strong partnerships with business leaders and the wider HR team. Ideally you will also have experience leading a team or have coached others in previous roles. You will provide specialist operational and strategic advice, as well as supporting and educating on a range of workplace relations matters. Drawing on your subject matter expertise, you will recommend the right solutions for F&P and our people and lead the negotiation, interpretation and application of our Collective Agreement.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in managing workplace relations at a senior level within large, complex environments, including experience in negotiating large multi-union collective agreements. Fostering long term strong relationships with employees, senior leaders and unions is something you have demonstrated previously, and you will be passionate about the critical work you do.
