Group Privacy Manager

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for activities related to the strategy, management, development and implementation of privacy policies, procedures, statements, notices and programs for the company.

This role will work closely with a number of business functions, including Legal, ICT and HR, Clinical and Product groups, with touch-points across the broader international business. The role sits with our Group Risk Advisory team.

The role will support a range of internal customers with varying privacy maturity, business needs and priorities. We have an established group privacy program. There is opportunity to continue to embed and mature across all parts of the business, to strategically manage and protect data. Our global footprint is growing. This role will have the ongoing opportunity to support business operations in new markets.

 

Responsibilities

This role is broad and varied, with no two days being the same. Responsibilities will include:

· Providing expert privacy and data protection advice and leadership across the company.

· Set strategy and develop global and regional approaches to complex privacy matters involving systems, processes and data handling activities.

· Coordinating and managing privacy programs across business areas and international offices.

· Fulfil the positions of (NZ) Privacy Officer and (EU) Data Protection Officer, and other applicable jurisdictions where necessary.

· Manage processes for privacy requests and incident management.

· Work closely with internal customers with privacy and data handling responsibilities in the organization to support privacy strategies and commitments.

· Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster privacy awareness within the organisation, including training.

· Maintaining current knowledge of applicable global privacy and security laws and accreditation standards.

· Supporting the business with new or novel regulatory challenges relating to protecting data, data rights and Artificial Intelligence.

 

Our ideal candidates will have the following experience and skills:

· Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Establish and build strong, trusted working relationships across the F&P Group at all levels, including senior leadership.

· Constructively partner with the business to support strategic and commercial business objectives which balance privacy and data protection interests.

· Demonstrable ability to understand, and investigate as necessary, business issues and risks to advise on regulatory requirements, business processes and information solutions.

· Excellent project management skills and capability to manage competing priorities.

· Experience with advising on Privacy & Data Protection, including a working knowledge of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and/or other global privacy regulations (Preferred not essential!)

· Experience with advising on data protection obligations in complex IT environments or to comply with ISO27001 would be advantageous

· Supporting business areas with undertaking and meeting audit obligations
