Engineer - Open Surgery, 12-month fixed term contract
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the field of Surgery?
This 12-month fixed term role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with three R&D project teams dedicated to pioneering new therapies and products. This is not your traditional product or operations engineering role, and the following is the reason why:
A key challenge faced in Surgery, is that we cannot simply gain development learnings by using surgical products on ourselves. To overcome this, we focus on rapidly and safely releasing products for use in surgical procedures.
The 3 projects are at different R&D phases, so the individual needs for each project must be carefully understood
You will actively engage in:
-
Digging deeper to understand fundamentally what is needed to make, release and deliver a product for use with clinicians
-
Sterilisation and sterile barrier systems processing, validation and production testing
-
Hands-on small batch process development and executing manufacturing activities.
You will play a crucial role in these projects establishing the pipeline to transition developed concepts into production batch build-ready, and ultimately ensuring products reach clinicians.
Have you got what it takes?
-
You will possess a relentless drive to make, release, deliver products into the hands of customers to treat patients.
-
You have 3 years plus experience working on projects with medical devices, or in a similarly regulated industry. More specifically, you will have applied experience in manufacturing and QMS processes. For example, experience in Product Development, Quality and Operations Engineering roles would generally be relevant for this role.
-
Having the outcome clearly in mind, you are willing to challenge the way things are conventionally done and even, at times, re-evaluate your own perspectives.
