About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Custom & Trade Compliance Manager to design, implement and continuously improve our global border and customs compliance framework. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that ensures regulatory adherence, minimises risk, optimises duty and tariff costs and supports efficient cross-border trade operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Establish and maintain a globally aligned customs and border compliance framework 
  • Develop proactive compliance strategies in response to changes in global trade laws, sanctions and free trade agreements 
  • Embed compliance into business decision-making to enable tariff optimisation and duty savings 
  • Ensure consistent compliance with import/export and customs regulations across all markets 
  • Lead internal and external compliance audits with strong outcomes 
  • Manage HS classification, rules of origin, valuation, licensing, and restricted party screening 
  • Standardise customs processes and documentation across the global supply chain 
  • Deliver training and build compliance capability across business functions 
  • Provide expert advisory on trade compliance risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders 

 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, Law or a related field 
  • 10+ years’ experience in international trade and customs compliance, with at least 5 years in people leadership roles 
  • Deep expertise in global customs regulations, WTO frameworks, HS classification, Free Trade Agreements, sanctions and restricted party screening 
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations (procurement, logistics and distribution) 
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate and manage stakeholders at all levels 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
