About the opportunity
We are seeking a talented and driven Business Analyst to support both our New Zealand-based and international teams. In this role, you will design and deliver insightful reports that empower strategic planning and enhance decision-making. You will also maintain and refine existing reporting solutions, ensuring they continue to meet evolving business needs. You will act as a trusted business partner, collaborating with various internal stakeholders across International Sales, Data Analytics, and Finance to identify information requirements and create reports that meet these needs.
This position is based in our global head office in East Tamaki and will report into our Financial Planning and Analysis Manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop reports that support strategic planning and business decision-making, tailored to the needs of various internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance existing reporting solutions to ensure they continue to provide value.
- Analyse reports to identify trends, validate data accuracy, and deliver insights that help the business respond to market challenges.
- Formulate and communicate meaningful and timely executive reports to senior management, aiding in informed decision-making.
- Provide training and education on reporting methodologies and key performance indicators to ensure alignment with the business's strategic direction.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of reporting processes.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong accounting and technical skills with a sharp analytical mindset. Specific key skills and experience we are looking for include:
- 3+ years of accounting or finance experience
- CA or similar professional body equivalent qualification or in progress
- Advanced Excel skills (including Macros, Power Query and Power Pivots)
- Experience with Power BI/DAX reporting
- Proficiency in SQL
- SAP ERP experience (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, and the capability to manage tight deadlines.
- Ability to analyse data, solve problems, and provide insightful recommendations.
