About the opportunity 

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is looking for an Assistant Accountant or Accountant to join our Group Services Finance team. This is a full-time, office-based role where you will perform core financial processes and month end activities, reporting and analysis that support informed decision-making across the business.  The position offers an excellent platform in a growing business to further develop your accounting and analytical capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Transactional accounting and month-end activities, including account reconciliations and investigating and resolving any discrepancies 

• Reviewing and refining policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness 

• Responding to ad hoc business queries and providing financial insights as required 

• Providing accounting support across Group Services as priorities require 

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and project-based work 

About you 

You thrive in a proactive, high-performing environment where you have the trust to manage your own priorities. You pay attention to detail but are also able to step back and see the bigger picture. You have a strong analytical mindset, coupled with the ability to understand the broader commercial context behind the numbers.  

• Relevant university undergraduate degree  

• Solid understanding of accounting concepts with at least 2 years relevant work experience 

• Analytical skillset to support problem solving 

• Strong communication skills 

• Solid Excel skills 

• SAP and Power BI experience or similar reporting tools is an advantage 

• A naturally curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
