COVID-19 Information

How we keep our workplace as safe as possible

At Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, our purpose is improving care and outcomes through inspired and world-leading healthcare solutions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our people have been living out that purpose like never before.

You may not know that we make some of the leading respiratory devices used to treat COVID-19 patients in hospitals. The work we do is essential, and we have a global responsibility to our customers and their patients.

To help keep our people safe during the pandemic, we have strict health and safety measures in place. These have evolved and changed as new research comes to light. They vary by country depending on local conditions.

Some of the key measures at our offices, manufacturing facilities and distribution centres may include:

  • Physical distancing in offices and meeting rooms (2 metres / 6 feet)
  • Mask wearing
  • Increased cleaning and hygiene
  • Separation between shifts
  • Bluetooth contact tracing cards
  • On-site vaccinations for COVID-19
  • On-site saliva testing for COVID-19

These safety measures are based on the most current scientific research. They are shown to be highly effective at reducing the spread of COVID-19, including the Delta variant.

What this means for new hires at our largest facility in New Zealand

Vaccination

Research shows that the best way to protect ourselves from COVID-19 is to be vaccinated. For that reason, if you join our New Zealand team we require new employees to be fully vaccinated.

Saliva testing

We also require our New Zealand team to participate in regular on-site saliva testing for COVID-19. The test is managed by an external company, Rako Science.

Test results are returned by text message within 24 hours.

This provides peace of mind so our people can go home at the end of their work day knowing they are free of the virus.
